EUROPA LANCASHIRE
MODERN LIVING IN A HISTORIC MILIEU
Located at 244 Saint-Jacques Street West, the LANCASHIRE houses 17 unique condominiums within a spectacular heritage building right in the heart of Montreal’s quintessential Old Port.
THE LANCASHIRE: JEWEL OF MONTREAL’S HERITAGE
The LANCASHIRE was designed by architect Edward Maxwell and erected in May 1899. Its elegant Beaux-Arts facade is an eclectic amalgam of style. Ocher yellow sandstone walls create a neutral canvas for the sculpted entrance way and richly decorated cornices. Artfully restored and renovated, the LANCASHIRE stands as a paragon of the celebration of Montreal’s architectural and cultural heritage at the turn of the last century.
Finalist at the Gala Habitation 2014.
Address : 244 Saint-Jacques Ouest, Montreal, Quebec, H2Y 1L9.
Interior Finishing
AN ELEGANT FUSION OF MODERN CHIC AND CLASSIC CHARM
The interior of this late Victorian building has been entirely renovated and modernized. The bright, open hallways are welcoming and inviting. The dimensions vary between 778 and 3,000 square feet, uniting the warmth of an intimate foyer with the vastness evoked by open spaces.
The windows and doors are preserved in their original form, offering a clear view of all the charm and attractions of the neighborhood. Each unit boasts a unique panoramic view of the buildings of Old Montreal. The wide-planked hardwood floors echo LANCASHIRE’s sober and robust stone façade exterior. Italian doors add a touch of European elegance to this refined and modern style.
